Ultramafic outcrops around the world
Ultramafic outcrops are a diverse and globally distributed system, making them a new macroecological model for understanding the role of soil and climate interactions on plant form and function.
I compiled a database of ultramafic outcrops in the Americas and want to expand globally. This data will enable large-scale remote sensing and other analyses.
Be a part of a global database (and co-author on a data package in Dryad) by sending .shp files of ultramafic outcrops (and all their required extensions) outside of the Americas to cmhulshof@vcu.edu.
Happy to collaborate on papers using these data too!
